QUALITANCE co-founders Ioan Iacob and Radu Constantinescu talk global business on DIGI24

IN FAȚA TA”, the talk-show run by DIGI24’s journalists Claudiu Pândaru and Florin Negruțiu, is known for its constant pursuit of relevant insights from an abundance of Romanian personalities – politicians, artists and philosophers, top professionals and entrepreneurs. The latest edition, which focused on the challenges of running a successful business in Romania and abroad, featured QUALITANCE co-founders Ioan IACOB and Radu CONSTANTINESCU.

The straightforward interview turned into a 25-minute journey through the company’s success in Silicon Valley, the cultural shock experienced in the US and the expansion in Sydney and San Francisco. The TV hosts went further with the story, inviting the two co-founders to reveal what made them keep their core team in Romania, the main differences between the Romanians and the Americans in terms of work and business culture, as well as the importance of learning every step of the way.

Going back to the main question of the show, QUALITANCE CEO Ioan Iacob advised startup owners to embrace a think-big attitude, emphasizing that any emerging business should strive to go global: “You cannot survive, let alone stay relevant, if you only see your business in a local context. You need to take it farther, beyond borders.

We’re hooked on a test-and-learn philosophy. We don’t hover over an idea for too long, we put it into practice right away, we prototype everything. It’s the only way to learn,” pointed out co-founder Radu Constantinescu. It’s also how QUALITANCE won over brands like Breville, Virgin and many more – building innovative digital solutions that rely on emerging technologies and offer them a lasting unfair advantage. “We are not imagining the future. We’re already building it,” highlighted Ioan in full confidence.

The two co-founders equally underlined the team’s key role in the company’s breakthroughs, stressing that success is only possible when you’re working with driven, autonomous, responsible and committed people, who want to create value and build things that make a difference: “Our team is loyal because we create opportunities that enable them to build something unique. The high paying jobs that we offer simply come with the territory.”
