The 2015 edition of the QUALITANCE Summer Internship took place between the 6th of July and the 7th of August. After going through a tough selection, 19 students from the Cybernetics Faculty were part of an intensive 5 week learning program, held at the Bucharest Q offices.
Starting with July 6, the interns participated in QA and Dev trainings, studying functional, automated and performance testing as well as a wide palette of both iconic and cutting-edge development technologies such as HTML+CSS, Javascript + AngularJS, Node.js, Express, Django, Python and Mongodb.
Over the last two weeks of the internship, the students were dedicated to the actual developing of two major projects from scratch. Participants were split in two teams and our Qualitancers mentored them on how to create a viable MVP, through ideation to business analysis, development and testing.
The process started with an Ideation Day that produced 20 ideas through brainstorming. In the end, two of them were selected for further development: “School Planner”, an electronic timetable dedicated to the technical universities, and “One Day Job”, a portal for facilitating contact between employers and one-day job applicants.
The main objective of the final project was creating a functional, marketable prototype and assessing strategic thinking, testing rapid prototyping techniques and training the capacity to function efficiently as part of a successful team. Students that obtained the best results with both soft and tech skills during the internship were selected to follow through the next stage of our program: the shadowing phase, where the lucky (and most capable) ones will join our team as apprentices on working with real QUALITANCE projects.
